Ariel the Sorceror
Here
is my first sculpture. It stands nine inches made using a wire armature
supported with tin foil. Then a thin layer of Super Sculptey was added
and shaped with rubber-tipped
oil paint brushes. Then, it was painted with Acrylic paint. The idea
for this piece came from Shakespeare's
water spirit Ariel. I thought it would be interesting to see an animal
representation of this character.




Below is the original
thumbnail sketch that the work was based on. I followed the pose
almost exactly, as you can see from the comparison shot above.
